Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.02, the Governor’s Council on Blindness and Visual Impairment (GCBVI) hereby states that all meeting notices of this public body and any of its committees and subcommittees will be posted electronically on this website under the title Public Meeting Notices and Agendas.
Physical copies of the agendas for all full council and sub-committee public meetings will be posted at the following location:

This office is open to the public Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (except legal holidays and state mandated furlough days).
All meeting notices and agendas will be posted in these locations at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the meetings.

GCBVI's vision statement is:
“Create, foster and sustain a climate of opportunity where all Arizonans who are blind or visually impaired are able to direct their own lives and reach their personal chosen goals and objectives”.

This committee focuses on accessibility standards for instruction and advocating for accessibility standards and Assistive Technology for blind and visually impaired Arizonans.
This committee focuses on ensuring that SSP (Support Service Providers) services to DeafBlind Arizonans are sustained across the state and best practices are established and implemented for consumers who are DeafBlind
This committee focuses on accessibility standards for K-12 and post-secondary students, best practices for schools administering core curriculum development, and the development of a data collection mechanism to track test scores for K-12 students.
This committee is focused on the implementation of an ongoing employer education campaign and implementation of mentoring program pairing successfully closed VR consumers with new VR consumers.
This committee focuses on Independent Living Blind (ILB) services
ILB services to all populations statewide and best practices for ILB consumers who are deafblind.
This committee focuses on ensuring that funding for VR services is available through all possible methods, ensuring all blind Arizonans who want them are receiving VR services and that the comprehensive blindness skills training programs are available to all blind consumers.

This committee focuses on ensuring that the GCBVI is recognized as an information and referral resource for both consumers and agencies and businesses that serve blind consumers and that public awareness of the council is raised.
