Under the Older Americans Act of 1965, each state is required to submit a periodic state plan to the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Aging. In Arizona, the development of a state plan is the responsibility of the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES), Division of Aging and Adult Services.

Arizona Aging Population Executive Summary
The report, “Arizona’s Older Ethnic Minorities 2000: A Demographic Analysis,” is a compendium of demographic information about Arizona’s older ethnic minority population. Containing an executive summary and nine chapters, the report is the most comprehensive document of its kind published for Arizona. Included are chapters on the composition, living arrangements, household and family structure, employment, social conditions, income, health status, and service utilization of today's older Arizonans. The report was developed in collaboration with the University of Arizona, Center on Aging.
