The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) Office of Tribal Relations serves as the point of contact for all American Indian Tribal Nations throughout Arizona to address the needs from the tribes and assist on a variety of human services matters. The DES Office of Tribal Relations also provides guidance, assistance and education to DES on various policy-related matters with a specific focus on Tribal Government Consultation and cultural awareness, and works to educate DES program staff about the American Indian Tribal Nations within Arizona to focus on particular strengths, needs and opportunities for partnership/collaboration. There are DES Program Divisions that have a dedicated Tribal Liaison to address day-to-day program matters and to address the specific needs from Tribes.
