Arizona was awarded funding under the State Apprenticeship Expansion Formula (SAEF) grant program by the U.S. Department of Labor for the period of July 2025 to June 2028. The purpose of the grant is to support State capacity and planning to increase Registered Apprenticeship opportunities for individuals while also driving system innovation and reform.
Registering an Apprenticeship Program in the ETPL and Veterans Administration
After approving and signing standards documents for a registered apprenticeship program, the Arizona Apprenticeship Office (Registration Agency) emails the documents to the Arizona State Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL) coordinator and the Veterans Administration State Approving Agency (SAA), where they are recorded. The Apprenticeship program is provided with instructions from the SAA to register their approved program onto the ETPL.
Apprentices may be eligible for financial assistance and supportive services through the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) to cover any costs that may be associated with participating in the Registered Apprenticeship Program. Such costs may include any program participation fees, tools, books, materials and tuition. Apprentices can apply for WIOA assistance with any of the ARIZONA@WORK local areas.
Accessing G.I. Bill Benefits
Apprentices who are veterans with active G.I. Bills can access their G.I. benefits while participating in a Registered Apprenticeship Program. To do so, the program sponsor or employer must contact the Veterans Administration’s State Approving Agency (SAA) on the apprentice’s behalf to register the apprentice.
