At the Volunteer Engagement Center, we strive to improve and promote the productivity and quality of services within DES by meeting the demands for human services and resources through volunteerism. We do this by engaging individuals throughout the State to use their unique skills, talents, and areas of interest to help DES with its efforts to make Arizona stronger. Through the Volunteer Engagement Center, individuals and groups are offered the opportunity to experience the satisfaction of being part of a team that is dedicated to helping the community. DES is proud of its volunteers throughout Arizona who bring their commitment, expertise, and passion to DES.
The Volunteer Engagement Center works with all DES programs and staff to identify volunteer opportunities in their areas and to recruit for those positions. Volunteers are then recruited, screened and trained by DES staff, and through a network of community-based contractors.
Volunteers are matched with programs and services based on their interests and the Department's needs. In order to ensure the safety of both our volunteers and the families that we work with, DES policy requires that all volunteers be registered with the Department.
