During the COVID-19 pandemic, eligible households have been receiving an Nutrition Assistance (NA) Emergency Allotment in addition to their current monthly NA benefit amount. Per federal guidelines, these additional benefits are ending following the expiration of Arizona’s State of Emergency Declaration on March 30, 2022. Households with elderly participants or participants with a disability may receive one of the following deductions from their income:
Participants are required to verify expenses over $35 to receive the SMD. All expenses must be verified when a participant chooses to claim actual out-of-pocket medical expenses above $160.
Nutrition Assistance (formerly the Food Stamp Program) is Arizona’s program for the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
Nutrition Assistance provides eligible households with monthly benefits they can use to purchase nutritious food. By helping families fight food insecurity and meet one of their fundamental needs, they can focus on overcoming barriers to self-sufficiency.

The Restaurant Meals Program allows certain Nutrition Assistance (NA) participants to use their Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card to purchase prepared meals from participating restaurants. This may also include the deli section of a participating grocery store. This program is available to an NA household if every person in the household meets one or more of the following conditions:

To get started or to renew participation, download the forms Restaurant Meals Program Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the Application for Meal Services. Complete the forms and mail them to the address on the MOU.
As announced by Governor Ducey, the USDA Food and Nutrition Service authorized Arizona to participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Online Purchasing Pilot. Nutrition Assistance recipients will be able to make online purchases for grocery items with authorized SNAP retailers. The ability for vulnerable populations to purchase nutritious foods online will help keep families healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Once authorized SNAP retailers are EBT-enabled for Online Transactions, participants will see an “EBT” icon on the retailer’s website. They will then be able to add their EBT card in the Payment Method after selecting an EBT-enabled store.
Walmart

Amazon offers online grocery purchases across the state through:
Although Whole Foods accepts SNAP in stores, online grocery delivery is not available through Whole Foods at this time.
Aldi
Aldi is partnering with Instacart to offer online grocery purchases through its Arizona locations. Find additional details on the Instacart website.
Sam's Club Scan and Go App
As of March 21, 2022, Sam's Club members with the Scan and Go app are able to purchase groceries.
Become a SNAP Internet Retailer
Retailers who are interested in online purchasing for SNAP EBT must meet USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) requirements and obtain authorization to participate. To learn more, visit the FNS Online Purchasing website, and view FNS requirements.
