Why do I need to re-register when I already have a MyFamilyBenefits account?
The Family Assistance Administration has increased the security for MyFamilyBenefits by adding Okta. Okta allows you to use a Multi-Factor Authenticator to sign into your account. To improve security, this required all users to have a valid email address linked to their account. Not all of the MyFamilyBenefits accounts had a valid email address. To provide the enhanced security to our customers, it now requires you to create a new account.

Okta is the technology tool which provides the secured access in MyFamilyBenefits for you to connect with Family Assistance Administration (FAA) to obtain the information about your case.
Can I use the same email address for multiple MyFamilyBenefits accounts?
MyFamilyBenefits does not allow the same email address for multiple accounts. There must be a unique email address per account.

Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is a method that requires you to provide two or more verification factors to gain access to your online account. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is used to protect against hackers by validating it is you through multiple measures.

Why is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Important?
The main benefit of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is the enhanced security it brings to your MyFamilyBenefits account by using more than a username and password. While important, usernames and passwords are vulnerable to brute force attacks and can be stolen by third parties. Enforcing the use of an MFA factor means increased confidence that your account will stay safe from cyber criminals.

MyFamilyBenefits performs best from Safari, Edge and Chrome and can be accessed from any Desktop or Mobile Device.
What do I do if I've forgotten my password?
If you cannot remember your MyFamilyBenefits password and need to reset it, click the 'Need help signing in?', then 'Forgot Password' link on the login screen.
What do I do if I am locked out?
MyFamilyBenefits provides a self service option to unlock your account by clicking 'Need help signing in?, then 'Unlock Account' link on the login screen.

Yes, your information is secure. The Department of Economic Security protects your information with extensive security measures. You’ll authenticate yourself with both your regular password and a second factor of your choice (Text Message, Voice Call or Email) in order to securely access MyFamilyBenefits.
