Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS)

The Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program offers Pre-ETS to students with disabilities across Arizona.

What are Pre-ETS?

Pre-ETS are specific career exploration and job readiness services that help students with disabilities prepare for future employment. Services are provided through short workshops.

Workshop topics include:

  • Job Exploration Counseling
  • Work-Based Learning
  • Counseling on Post-Secondary and Training Opportunities
  • Work Readiness Training
  • Instruction in Self-Advocacy

Who can receive Pre-ETS?

Students with disabilities may receive Pre-ETS services.

In Arizona, a student with a disability is someone who:

  • Is 14 to 22 years old
  • Is enrolled in an educational program
    • Public
    • Private
    • Charter school
    • Homeschool
    • College
    • GED programs
    • Vocational program
  • Has a documented disability, including a 504 plan or IEP

Students do not need to apply for VR services or be VR clients to receive Pre-ETS.

How do I request Pre-ETS?

Follow these steps to request Pre-ETS:

  1. Review the Pre-ETS Contractor Directory find a provider:
  2. Complete the Pre-ETS Request Form:
  3. Submit the form to the RSA Transition team mailbox.

You may need to provide:

  • Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan
  • Medical or psychological documentation with a diagnosis by a licensed professional
  • Proof of acceptance/enrollment in a post-secondary educational program
  • Proof of legal guardianship if the student has a legal guardian
