DDD’s Training Unit provides the following training sessions and training materials, free of charge, in order to support statewide providers and caregivers that best serve DDD members.

The Training Materials accessible on this page are intended as samples of acceptable course content for vendors qualified through the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). Contents of each item may be used for educational purposes without written permission, but must include a citation to the specified source.

Article 9 New Instructor Clinics

This training covers the requirements and responsibilities of instructors that teach the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities and is available for all Qualified Vendor Agency Trainers in order to become certified as an Article 9 instructor.

Complete the Article 9 Instructor Application Packet to Register.

Application packets must be submitted to [email protected] no later than 14 days prior to clinic date requested. This clinic is limited to 8 participants.

Article 9 Recertification is being done by observation. Please submit the application to [email protected] to get scheduled.

The Basics of Developmental Home Licensing (Training Session)

This training is an introduction and tutorial for forms and policy relevant to operating a developmental home program.  It is available to vendor/agency administrators as well as any other developmental home licensing staff.

This training covers appropriate interactions with prospective licensees, Quick Connect entry as it pertains to initial and renewal home studies, as well as techniques for writing a home study and avoiding Additional Information Requests. It is available to new or veteran licensing workers and their supervisors.

This training covers the requirements to pass a Life-Safety Inspection outlined in the Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C. R6-18-701 et. seq.) This training is available to administrative HCBS staff or licensing staff from any HCBS certified Qualified Vendor agency.

This training covers adult learning principles and is available for all new Qualified Vendor Agency Trainers preparing to become certified as Article 9 and/or Prevention & Support instructors.
