How to Receive a Child Support Payment

Are you wondering how you can get your child support payments? 

You can receive your payments in one of two ways, either a debit card (Electronic Payment Card), or direct deposit.

Electronic Payment Card

If you choose a debit card, child support payments are transferred to a card that can be used anywhere debit cards are accepted or at any Automated Teller Machine (ATM) worldwide.

Direct Deposit

You can also choose direct deposit to have payments automatically deposited in your personal checking or savings account.

Fill out the Electronic Payment Authorization to sign up, stop, or change your direct deposit or EPC.

Wondering where your payment is? Here are a few things to keep in mind:

• Make sure to check your bank account or your EPC before calling DCSS. This will save time for you and others!
• Make sure your contact information with DCSS is up-to-date. This includes bank information, as well as other information, such as your address.
• Check the timing: Allow for mailing and process, and keep in mind any additional timelines that may add delays. For example, if your payment is collected from wage garnishment, this will be affected by the timing of the employer's pay period.
• If you’ve requested a new EPC, it may take up to two weeks to receive it.
