Return to Member and Family Resources
The Division of Developmental Disabilities partners with Public Housing Authorities, the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH), the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to offer
members certain affordable housing options.
To move into affordable housing, the individual(s) may need to pay a deposit and the first month’s rent. Monthly rent is 30% of the household’s combined income. The household may need to start utilities before moving in.
The income of caregivers who live inside the home is not included in the combined household income. DDD members can live by themselves, with family members, or with roommates. If the DDD member lives with others, they must all meet the combined income
and housing requirements together.
This community is located in Phoenix. Thirty duplexes are reserved for DDD members. Each unit has one to four bedrooms. The affordable housing here is done through a partnership with the Housing Authority of Maricopa County (HAMC) and the property manager.
Grant HUD has a program called Section 811 PRA that provides housing for DDD members. Grants through 811 PRA are the top funding source for DDD-member affordable housing.
DDD Support Coordinators refer those who qualify to the Coffelt-Lamoreaux Apartment Homes or 811 PRA Program. The DDD members must:
