During the rulemaking process, the Department of Economic Security (Department or DES) seeks feedback from the public at two different points: once while drafting the rules and once after the Secretary of State has published the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPR).
Informal Stakeholder Input
While DES is writing new or revised rules, the Department asks stakeholders and other members of the public to provide feedback on the draft rules to ensure that we effectively consider comments and concerns early in our rule writing process. Formal Public Comment
After the Secretary of State publishes an NPR in the Arizona Administrative Register (AAR), A.R.S. § 41-1023 requires the Department to hold a formal public comment period for at least 30 days.
