New K-12 families eligible for 2023 Summer Pandemic EBT will receive a pre-loaded Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card that can be used to purchase groceries at many grocers and convenience stores where Quest and SNAP EBT are accepted. DES will be adding the 2023 Summer benefit to the case number and P-EBT card that were sent to students for P-EBT Summer 2022.
*If everyone in your home is homeless or disabled, call the P-EBT hotline at 1 (844) 841-3802 to have your card enabled for the Restaurant Meals Program.
We will be adding the Summer 2023 benefit to the case number and P-EBT card that was sent to you for P-EBT Summer 2022. If you have lost or are not able to find your P-EBT card, you can Call FIS Customer Service at 1-888-997-9333 (TTY: 1-800-367-8939) or contact a DES office for a replacement. You must call 1(888) 997-9333 or go to www.ebtEdge.com. You will need your P-EBT letter from DES which will inform you how to set your PIN. This could arrive before or after the card arrives and both will be sent to the address on file with your local school.
You are responsible for your EBT Card, Personal Identification Number (PIN), and the use of your benefits. KEEP YOUR PIN PRIVATE! It is recommended that you update your PIN monthly. If your Cash Assistance or Nutrition Assistance account is accessed and used with your card or your EBT alternative holder card, the benefits will not be replaced. Benefits will not be considered for replacement until after they have been reported lost or stolen and will be limited to benefits remaining in your Electronic Benefit Transfer account as of the date of the report. The first replacement card in a calendar year is free. You are charged $5 for each additional replacement card. When you or your EBT alternate cardholder requests 3 or more replacement EBT cards within a 12-month period, you will be issued a replacement card, but you may not be able to use it until you make contact to explain the reason for the replacement EBT card request.

The Nutrition Assistance EBT card can be used at any vendor that accepts EBT. Locations may include grocery stores, convenience stores, and some farmers markets. The cost of items that are allowed to be purchased using Nutrition Assistance are deducted from Nutrition Assistance benefits during purchase. Items that are not allowed must be paid for separately. Some restaurants that participate in the Restaurant Meals Program also accept EBT for certain people that are allowed to purchase prepared meals.
DES coordinated with Walmart and Amazon to enable online SNAP purchases. In addition, Arizona is actively working to expand the number of stores that accept EBT online in the future.
You are allowed to use your EBT card outside of Arizona. A notice will be sent requiring you to answer questions about your EBT usage when 10% or more of your benefit amount is used outside of Arizona during a six month period.
You can find SNAP retailers by using the free and secure mobile app, ebtEDGE, available in the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).
ebtEDGE, a free mobile app for EBT cardholders, is now available in the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android). Through this secure app, you will be able to see your benefit balances, SNAP retailer and ATM locations, benefit schedules, and a statement of the last 60 days of transactions made on your card. You will need to enter your EBT card number and PIN to access your account information.
Arizona P-EBT cards are NOT insured. Lost or stolen P-EBT benefits CANNOT be replaced.
