The Division of Developmental Disabilities welcomes input from people with disabilities, their families, providers, advocates, community partners and other stakeholders as we improve our services and supports.

The Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council (DDAC) is an advisory council to the Assistant Director of the Division of Developmental Disabilities on matters relating to developmental disabilities. The mission of the DDAC is to provide, in partnership with the Division of Developmental Disabilities, advisory oversight on behalf of members, families and providers.
The Member Advocacy Council (MAC) is made up of volunteers who are members enrolled with the Division and are receiving or have received DDD services. Family members are can also be MAC volunteers. The MAC includes a wide variety of individuals. The purpose of the MAC is to gather input and discuss issues and barriers members face. The MAC will problem solve and look for ways to improve service delivery. The MAC will also provide input for agenda topics at future public town hall events.
The Independent Oversight Committees (formerly the Human Rights Committees) have moved from the Department of Economic Security (DES) to the Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) effective August 2018. Meeting agendas and minutes can be found on the IOC website.
The Program Review Committee (PRC) reviews any behavior treatment plans that meet the criteria outlined in Article 9 Managing Inappropriate Behaviors (Arizona Revised Statutes) regarding managing behaviors that are challenging to others. The PRC reviews and approves behavior treatment plans, or makes recommendations for changes as necessary.
The Governance Committee membership include peers and family of members enrolled with the Division who receive or have received services. The Governance Committee collaborates with Division leadership and staff to make recommendations that guide the Division’s strategic planning and identify process improvement initiatives. The Governance Committee meets quarterly.
The oversight committee formed by the Arizona Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act Oversight Committee
An Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) account is a savings program to provide persons with disabilities, their family and friends, the option to contribute to a tax-exempt savings account for disability-related expenses. The seven-member Arizona ABLE Act Oversight Committee makes recommendations and provides guidance for the establishment, implementation, and improvement of the program, including statutory and rule changes.
Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (ADDPC)
The ADDPC provides original research, education, advocacy and financial support to help Arizona residents with developmental disabilities and their families with employment, self-advocacy and community inclusion. Its mission is to develop and support capacity building and systemic change to increase inclusion and involvement of people with developmental disabilities in their communities through the promotion of self-determination, independence and dignity in all aspects of life
