- Earn $25 per hour or less at a new job (equivalent to a yearly salary of $52,000 or less).
Eligible individuals can apply for Child Care For Returning Workers Assistance by completing the Child Care For Returning Workers Application anytime between June 1, 2021, through September 6, 2021. Applicants will receive notification of approval by email.
Approved applicants will receive three full months of child care assistance from the start of their authorization.
Child care assistance can only be used for children ages 12 and younger at an approved child care provider within the Department of Economic Security (DES) child care provider network, including any DES contracted child care provider, DES Certified Family child care provider, or DES Non-Certified Relative Provider, statewide.
As part of the application process, please select a DES-approved child care provider by calling 1-800-308-9000 or by visiting www.azchildcare.org. When searching, click on the provider name and check that DES is listed under the “Fund Source.”
For more detailed information, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
Parents approved for this program will not be required to pay the DES copay, although the reimbursement to the provider may not cover the full cost of care. Parents will have to pay any difference for the cost of care between the reimbursement rate and the amount a provider charges, if applicable.
