Finding a new job could be a great way to start the new decade! Thanks to a robust economy and an increase in job growth in Arizona, there are many new jobs and opportunities available in 2020.
The Construction industry is seeing the largest percentage growth among industries at 5.8%. Predictions estimate 18,888 jobs will be added in Arizona in 2019 and 2020, according to data collected by the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO). Among industry vocations, carpentry is seeing the highest growth, with a projected 15.4% of growth within that same time span. Other trendy jobs in construction include masons (11.7%) and iron and steel workers (11.7%).
Manufacturing holds the second-largest percentage increase among all industries, with 3.6% growth, equating to 12,484 jobs. The highest surging job in manufacturing is industrial truck and tractor operator, with 13.2% growth. Other trendy jobs in the industry include chemical equipment operators and tenders (12.5%) and cost estimators (11.5%).
The Healthcare industry is also seeing a spike in the amount of job openings. It’s only grown 3.7%, but in a field that large, this equates to a total of 37,126 jobs becoming available in 2019 and 2020, according OEO numbers. Home health aides are the top growing job in this industry (12.2%). A growing number of physician assistants are needed (10.7%) as well as nurse practitioners (10.5%).
