Grant Diversion is a one-time lump-sum payment of Cash Assistance benefits to assist with expenses while you seek full-time employment.
You may be eligible for Grant Diversion provided you:
Cash Assistance eligibility must be determined before the Grant Diversion one-time lump sum cash payment can be released (if you accept the option).
You cannot apply for Grant Diversion if you are currently receiving TANF Cash Assistance.
The Grant Diversion benefit is intended to help a family move from long term Cash Assistance to full-time employment, but employment does not need to be lined up.
Just like Cash Assistance, the Grant Diversion benefit is received on the Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Card.
Talk to your eligibility interviewer to see if the Grant Diversion option is right for you.
