As proclaimed by Governor Doug Ducey, November is Family Caregiver Month, honoring approximately 270,000 family caregivers in Arizona who provide informal care to their loved ones. Being a family caregiver takes an exceptional amount of hard work, dedication and courage to juggle the demands of everyday life for oneself while also supporting a loved one. Yet, many family caregivers don’t recognize themselves as such; they assume the responsibility as something anyone would do for family. But family caregiving is an extraordinary feat, keeping their loved ones safe and comfortable in their own homes.
