Today, May 12th, is Child Care Provider Appreciation Day. Celebrated the Friday before Mother’s Day, the day recognizes the hard work and dedication of child care providers as they care for, educate and mentor our next generation. As the mother of four children, I understand the critical importance child care plays in helping to support work as well. The providers I have had over the years from in-home care to center based care and kinship supports have played a critical role in both my and my children’s lives.
