One year ago, the Department of Economic Security (DES) Division of Child Support Services (DCSS), in conjunction with the Department of Corrections, created this video to be played in prisons throughout the state. The mission of the video is to teach inmates about child support rights and responsibilities, as well as the opportunities available to them to address their child support obligation. By answering fundamental child support questions and reminding noncustodial parents that incarceration does not supersede a child support obligation, DCSS prepares them for a successful reentry. The DCSS Outreach team routinely visits incarcerated noncustodial parents to provide further information. If an inmate has a specific question about his or her case, our outreach team is able to look up the case and return with helpful information.
