TANF Jobs Program Displacement Grievance Form

The TANF Jobs Program is Arizona’s required employment and training program for adults who receive TANF cash assistance. The program helps participants build job skills through work activities.

If a participant is in an unpaid work activity, they cannot replace a current employee.

What is Displacement

Displacement happens when a TANF Jobs Program participant is placed in a position that:

  • Causes a current employee to be fired, laid off, or reassigned
  • Reduces an employee’s regular hours, pay, or benefits, not including overtime
  • Fills a job held by someone who is on layoff
  • Creates a new position that does the same work as someone who was laid off or fired
  • Limits an employee’s chance for a promotion

File a Displacement Grievance

If you believe your employer has violated the TANF Jobs Program rules, you can file a grievance.

DES provides a secure online form for employees in the public or private sector to report displacement.

You must submit the form within 20 days of the incident.
