Congratulations! The hard work you’ve put into creating a resume and completing applications has paid off, and you’ve secured an interview.
A moment of excitement arises, but once everything sinks in, anxiety may follow. Questions like, “What will they ask me? Will I have the answers they want? What if I freeze?” may pop into your head.
ARIZONA @ WORK has resources available to help you prepare for job interviews. ARIZONA @ WORK One-Stop Job Centers are located across the state, where staff are available to assist job seekers with the entire employment process — including interviews.
Remember, the interviewer is interested in you and the skillset you bring, so put it on full display. It’s perfectly normal to be nervous for an interview. If during the interview you slip up while speaking, or just need a few seconds to regain your composure, a comment like, “Sorry, I’m just very excited for this opportunity,” can break the tension and let the interviewer know how much this position means to you.
Always stay positive. A good attitude and confidence can go a long way in impressing an interviewer.
