Summer is around the corner and like the temperature, seasonal job opportunities are on the rise. Here are some of the top industries seeking help this season.
Despite the high temps, Arizona resorts do big business during the summer and are currently hiring restaurant staff, cooks, front desk personnel, pool attendants, housekeeping staff, and more. A career in the hospitality industry offers many perks including the ability to be social on-the-job, learn new skills, create a flexible schedule and the ability to work almost anywhere in the world with the experience gained.
Schools out, which means many parents are seeking temporary child care summer programs, such as camps for their children. Many kid-friendly programs are currently seeking camp counselors, child care providers, art teachers and more. Working with children brings excellent life-long experience even if you decide not to make it your career. Not to mention, it’s generally fun and allows workers to let their silly and creative sides shine.
In Arizona, summertime means pool time, so aquatics centers, including water parks, city pools, and hotels, are recruiting lifeguards and other pool staff. Pool gigs are great for workers who don’t mind the Arizona heat and enjoy lots of sunshine as opposed to being cooped up indoors.
Summer break is a great time for students to beef up their resume with a summer internship. Currently in Arizona, internships are available in industries including Healthcare, Information Technology (IT), Human Resources, Accounting, Graphic Design and more. Internships serve as an excellent way for a worker to get his or her foot-in-the-door of a company or field for which they have interest.
