A combination of federal, state and donated funds is used to support statewide efforts to provide community-based services for homeless individuals and families. The DES State Homeless Coordination Office collaborates with community homeless providers statewide to provide:
temporary emergency shelter
Emergency shelter is any temporary housing used to shelter individuals and families experiencing homelessness while permanent housing is identified.
Rapid rehousing is designed to move homeless individuals or families quickly to permanent housing through relocation and stabilization services and short- or medium-term rental assistance.
