The annual SFMNP benefits are designed to provide resources in the form of fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey, and herbs from farmers markets, roadside stands, and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) to low-income seniors in Arizona. The program may also increase the domestic consumption of agricultural commodities by expanding or aiding in the expansion of domestic Authorized Market(s).
Once a year, qualifying seniors may receive one booklet containing up to six (6) SFMNP vouchers that may be used during the “Dates of Use” printed on the voucher. Each voucher has a program value of $5.00, for up to $30.00 in SFMNP vouchers.
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) box:
If available, qualifying seniors have the option to receive up to three Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) boxes in lieu of SFMNP vouchers. Each CSA box is valued at $10 each of locally grown fruits and vegetables. SFMNP voucher can be used only at Authorized Market(s).
The number of SFMNP vouchers or CSA boxes issuance may vary each year according to available funding. SFMNP vouchers are normally distributed to qualifying seniors at authorized distributors February 1st. However, the voucher distribution time frame may change depending on product season.
