Job loss can be overwhelming, but here at DES, the Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS), Employment and Training Administration (EA) works daily to assist a particular group of individuals who find themselves unemployed through no fault of their own. The DERS EA administers the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) Program which is a federally-funded program that assists workers who are unemployed due to increased imports from, or production shifts to foreign countries. The TAA program goal is to help trade-affected workers return to suitable employment as quickly as possible.
