Area Agencies on Aging
Area Agencies on Aging offer a variety of services to senior citizens and individuals who have disabilities, including transportation.
Arizona Caregiver Coalition
The Arizona Caregiver Coalition is a good resource for services that can be provided in the form of in-home respite care or appropriate daycare services when available. Examples of those who might qualify for services through the program include:
- Caregivers of persons who are seriously or terminally ill, who do not currently qualify for hospice care.
- Caregivers of persons under 60 who have significant functional impairments, but are not eligible for disability services.
- Caregivers of persons with early cognitive deficit resulting in functional impairment, who have not yet received a "likely" diagnosis of dementia.
- Grandparents or relative caregivers less than 55 years of age caring for children 18 and younger.
- Caregivers of veterans not qualified for respite services from the Veteran's Administration.
Caregiver Associations
Caregiver associations in your area may offer respite assistance and other supports for individuals who have developmental disabilities, such as shopping assistance, transportation, and handypersons.

Family, Friend & Relatives Network
Ask family, friends and relatives to provide respite or help arrange respite with someone they know.
National Respite Locator Service
The National Respite Locator Service helps parents, caregivers, and professionals find respite services in their state and local area to match their specific needs. Their Web site lets you search for respite providers that serve specific locations (e.g., Arizona locales) and demographics, (e.g., care for an elderly person with epilepsy or someone who has a developmental disability and is medically fragile).

ProviderSearch.com is a web-based tool designed to help families and professionals connect. This site was developed to assist families in their search for professionals who can help work with their loved ones with special needs. Families can search for staff at their leisure and agencies can display a detailed list of their employees who are available to work.
