Community resources for assistance with transportation needs.
Area Agencies on Aging offer a variety of services to senior citizens and individuals who have disabilities, including transportation. The Area Agencies on Aging are located in communities throughout Arizona. You can find the agency in your area by searching their online directory.
In addition to a host of other services, some of Arizona’s Centers for Independent Living (CIL) provide non-emergency transportation to medical appointments, jobs, social activities and CIL-related events. Some CILS also offer travel training where you can learn the overall transit system and how to use city transportation so that you can be more independent in the community. You may be required to pay for transportation services; however, ask about travel vouchers that might be available to help defray costs. Contact the CIL in your area about the availability of transportation services and travel training.
