About WIOA

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) was signed into law in 2014. Its purpose is to:

• Strengthen and improve our nation’s public workforce system
• Help get job seekers and workers into high-quality jobs and careers
• Help employers hire and retain skilled workers

Covered persons (veterans and eligible spouses) who meet program eligibility will receive priority of service. Covered persons in the Adult program must also meet requirements related to income or skill levels to receive priority for individualized career or training services.
