Did you know that both parties in a child support case do not need to reside in Arizona for you to apply for child support services?
In most instances, when one of the parties lives outside of Arizona, Arizona will request assistance from the other jurisdiction. In turn, Arizona might be asked by another state to provide services if one of the parties lives here.
Since intergovernmental cases work in partnership with one or more additional state agencies, the timeframe for specific case actions may be longer due to the need to coordinate case information and actions.
What can the Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) do that involves other states?
DCSS can and is required to enforce other states' support orders and income withholding orders, including past-due support. DCSS may also register other states' orders with the Arizona Court and request that the Court enforce other states' orders.
