WIC Farmers Markets Nutrition Program (FMNP)

The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) is a federal program that works to improve the health of low-income families who are current WIC participants and currently receiving benefits.

Announcement

Eligible FMNP participants may apply for coupons beginning March 1, 2026. Applications must be submitted through the Arizona Farmers Market Nutrition Program, and coupons will be mailed directly to eligible recipients on a first-come, first-served basis (no longer claimed at farmers markets). Participants are encouraged to visit the Arizona Farmers Market Program webpage for additional program updates and key date adjustments.

Program Overview

The annual WIC Farmers Markets Nutrition Program (WIC FMNP) benefits help WIC program households access coupons to purchase fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from farmers markets and farm stands. This program:

  • Supplements the regular WIC food packages.
  • Encourage WIC families to visit and enjoy their local farmers markets and farm stands throughout Arizona.
  • Increase sales of fruits and vegetables for local Arizona farmers.

Coupons

Once a year, qualifying participants may receive one coupon booklet that may be used at authorized farmers markets and farm stands to purchase fresh, Arizona-grown fruits and vegetables. Each booklet has 10 coupons, each worth $5. Currently, WIC participants are eligible for $50 of coupons per household. The number of  WIC FMNP vouchers varies each year, depending on available funding, and is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eligibility

To participate in the WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), a household must be currently participating in the WIC program, which is administered through the Arizona Department of Health Services (DHS). WIC households may apply online. The application window closes September 30 each year. Visit the Arizona Farmers Market Nutrition Program website for up-to-date information on:

Locations

Once a WIC household’s FMNP application has been approved and FMNP coupons have been received, coupon recipients can purchase fresh, Arizona-grown produce at participating farmers markets or farm stands.
