Growing With Google: IT Professional Climbs the Career Ladder

Since August 2022, the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) and ARIZONA@WORK have partnered with Google on the Grow with Google Career Certificate Scholarship Program, which has helped hundreds of Arizonans enhance their employability by obtaining Google certificates.

The program provides free scholarships for learners to earn certifications in high-demand fields including Digital Marketing & E-commerce, IT, Data Analytics, Project Management, and UX Design. Joseph Bennett, took advantage of the Grow With Google certification program, earning not just one, but 6 different Google certificates.

Joseph was promoted from a Service Desk Analyst Contractor to a Senior Service Desk Analyst, citing his Google certifications as playing a crucial role in his career success.

He elaborated, saying that the Project Management certification “refined my project execution skills, while the Cyber Security and IT Support certifications enhanced my ability to troubleshoot and secure our IT infrastructure.”

The online certification program allows you to go at your own pace and Joseph says each certification took him between three to six months to complete.
