Searching for a job can be challenging. The same can be said for employers who are adding skilled and motivated individuals to their workforce. Luckily, Arizona Job Connection (AJC) is here to help both job seekers and employers reach their goals.
AJC is a web-based, job-matching labor market system that ARIZONA @ WORK administers to help people find jobs, available trainings, job assistance programs, workforce solutions and much more. This easy, free-to-use website appeals to job seekers and employers alike.
Here are seven reasons why you should use AJC:
The variety of jobs and the number of positions on the website are numerous. AJC allows job seekers to narrow their search by refining the job type (e.g. mechanic, nurse, sales), location and radius (how close or how far you are willing to work from that location) of the position. Job seekers who aren’t quite ready to apply, or are still thinking about applying, can save the job and come back to it later. Job seekers can also check on the status of their applications in their account activity log. If a user has questions about the positions listed on AJC, they can call a local ARIZONA @ WORK office about the job for which they’d like to apply.
In order to apply for jobs, a resume is needed. Don’t have one? AJC can help! While creating a profile and searching for jobs, AJC will ask several questions to match job seekers with a good job fit, as well as assistance in building a strong resume.
On top of applying for jobs and creating a resume, employers are also on AJC trying to find reliable, skilled individuals to aid their workforce. By taking the time to create and refine a resume through AJC, the likelihood of being seen by employers only increases. Job seekers can also list details about specific skills employers seek under “My Skills List.”
Job seekers aren’t the only ones able to take advantage of all the benefits AJC provides! Once a profile is created, employers can post job vacancies onto AJC’s job board. Employers are also able to save resumes and receive updates when viable candidates come along. There are many eager job seekers on AJC who are ready to work immediately and match what an employer is searching for.
Not only does AJC serve as Arizona’s largest jobs database, but it is also home to many workforce-related training and educational opportunities for both job seekers and employers. AJC users can find a large array of trainings (computer, culinary, accounting, engineering) in a comprehensive and easy to use system.
While searching for a job or trying to fill a position, users can take advantage of the resources available on AJC. For job seekers, there is information available on such topics as career planning, Unemployment Insurance, labor market statistics and more. For employers, there is information on tax credits, hiring veterans and individuals with disabilities, among others.
AJC also lists programs that can make the job search process easier for some job seekers, including vocational rehabilitation and SNAP CAN. If you’d like to speak to somebody over the phone, that is always an option, as a local ARIZONA @ WORK staff member is always available to assist.
