View the Draft Plan Comment on the Draft Plan Register for the Public Hearing
The DRAFT Pre-Print Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) State Plan for Arizona is available for public review and comment. The public comment period will close on May 31, 2021. This Plan describes the Child Care and Development Fund program to be administered by Arizona from October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2024. The Arizona Department of Economic Security is the Lead Agency in this effort.
In accordance with the federal Child Care and Development Block Grant, 45 CFR §98.14(c)(1) requires states to hold a public hearing in the State, after at least 20 days of statewide public notice, to provide to the public an opportunity to comment on the provision of child care services under the Plan.

The federal Child Care and Development Block Grant is the defining law for the CCDF program and makes significant advances by defining health and safety requirements for child care providers, outlining family friendly eligibility policies, and ensuring parents and the general public have transparent information about the child care choices available to them. The CCDF State Plan is written and approved for a 3-year Plan period by the federal Office of Child Care. The Plan serves as the application for CCDF funds by providing a description of, and assurance about, the Lead Agency’s child care program and all services available to eligible families. DES/CCA has developed this FFY 2022-2024 State Plan in partnership with tribal nations and communities, state agency partners, and the child care community.
The Child Care Administration is committed to informing partners, communities and families of changes in rules, regulations or statewide implementation plans. Opportunities to review and comment will be shared here.
