How are we doing?
Each state is responsible for the supervision of early intervention programs. This includes monitoring compliance with the laws and procedures as well as measuring the quality of services. IDEA requires that each state establish a state Interagency Coordinating Council, appointed by the Governor of the state, for the purpose of advising and assisting the Lead Agency in the implementation of the Part C program. The membership of the Council is specified in statute and regulations. Membership includes at least 20% parents of children with disabilities emphasizing the importance of family involvement in policy and program development. In addition to the ICC, there is an annual Statewide Stakeholders Meeting.
