You know that moment in life when you find yourself at a major crossroads, and it feels like the only person who can guide you is the one staring back at you in the mirror? Ciara Wimby will tell you that sometimes the path chooses you.
In her mid-twenties, Wimby felt that there wasn’t a whole lot going right in her life. She had been diagnosed with severe digestive issues that threatened any chances for employment outside of her home. Around the same time, she lost both her parents and was going through a divorce. It was a defining moment in her life story—she could give into her hardships and let things spiral out of control or take control. With that, LIV You was born.
“It came to me in a dream,” Wimby says. “I wanted to do something to help people understand that no matter what tragedies, hardships, and trauma they’ve been through in their lives, they could do something with themselves.”
LIV You, an acronym for Love, Inspire, and Value yourself, is a healthy living regimen designed by Wimby and a lifestyle she credits for her rebound.
From yoga to nutrition and natural and organic products, LIV You focuses on getting healthy inside and out.
“I started thinking about digestion, because I had a digestive issue. I thought if I’m putting things into my body that need to be good for me in order to heal, I should probably be putting things on my body that help me heal,” says Wimby.
She embraced the organic lifestyle through her diet and all-natural alternatives to everyday products like toothpaste, deodorant, soap, and moisturizer. Wimby mastered do-it-yourself body products using ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter, baking soda, and essential oils.
Wimby believes the knowledge of everything she put into and on her body allowed her to take control of her life. “I haven’t taken medication in 10 years,” she explains proudly.
Today, Wimby is employed full-time at the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) Division for Developmental Disabilities (DDD), and she is a self-published author. Wimby has also turned the LIV You program into a non-profit with the mission of helping people improve their well-being through alternative healing practices, natural and organic careers, and holistic resources to help with healthy living.
Wimby says she has partnered with other local non-profits, like homeless shelters, to share the LIV You program. “Healthy living is the focus. The products are a fun and easy way to engage people.”
Through LIV You, Ciara Wimby loves the life she lives today. She is inspired by others and spreads inspiration. She values herself and others. It’s a path—a healthy lifestyle—that chose her at one of her lowest points, and a journey she hopes to continue sharing with the world.
