Every year, October offers an opportunity to raise awareness about domestic violence, an issue that can affect anyone, at any time. According to the National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, one in four women and one in ten men have experienced violence and/or stalking by an intimate partner. The Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence (ACESDV) reports that at least 102 Arizonans were killed in domestic violence related homicides in 2020. The prevalence of domestic violence is astonishing, and it is incumbent upon all of us to remind those within our communities that it can stop.
